About
Mgr. Miroslav Chovanec, PhD. is Director of the Cancer Research Institute at the Biomedical Research Centre of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. His group works at the intersection of experimental oncology and molecular genetics, with a long-standing focus on DNA repair, genome stability and the molecular determinants of treatment response.
He brings two decades of senior research leadership and a translational mindset: connecting mechanistic discoveries about DNA damage and repair to biomarkers that have practical value in oncology — from preclinical models to clinically relevant readouts.
